VERMEER'D.

Ahem. I wanted to try painting some skintones, and the only person I'm not embarassed to experement with is me...and therefore a self portrait was procured. C: I'm really happy with it.

It's not completely accurate to how I look; I botched the spacing between the eyes and nose, but it's recognizable at least.

I'm wearing something on my head because my hair happened to look like crap when I took the reference photograph. Didn't want to focus on the hair anyway. ;]

MEDIA: Acrylic paint on canvas. About 14x16 inches.

Wow, you rock with acrylics. ;) Is that a towel on your head? Couldn't you have covered it with a bandanna? xD Anyway, the colors are very smooth, and the blue background goes perfectly with your eyes. ^^ Do you have freckles? (I believe I see freckles there!)

It's a hoodie/jacket thing, actually. xD It was all I could find to cover my nasty hair with at the time. :lol:

And yes, freckles eat my face. They're not the most bold freckles in the universe, but they're EVERYWHERE. 8D

My gray jacket. xD About why my hair looked like crap! Here's the scoop:

I was getting ready for work and began to tie my hair back. I looked in the mirror and thought, "Wow, this lighting is really pretty! Could do for a self portrait...! Aww, I just brushed out my hair..." So then I grabbed my jacket. 8D

Note the "VERMEER'D" at the beginning of the description; the whole piece was almost completely inspired by him (Johannes Vermeer). C: :heart:
